Abstract
Postmodern literature is one of the main subsets of postmodernism that has been affected by this situation in North America. In the past two decades, postmodern literature has been formed in Iran and became known as the dominant style. Whenever a literary genre of a culture enters into another culture, if it has not existed previously in that contexts , it cannot form such an effective and durable presence and is not remembered for a long time. Interest in postmodernism is growing in Persian literature and accordingly has brought about various styles of postmodern fiction, postmodern poetry, postmodern sonnets, and... Growing interest in postmodernism is rooted in classical Persian literature; as the impact of lyrical literature is obvious on modern Persian literature and one of the key factors its success. The root of many of the characteristics of postmodern literature should be probed in its classical forms. Features such as "pastiche, vicious circle, meta-fiction, parody, play with language and Dadaism", that are characteristic of postmodern works, are rooted in classical Persian literature and this factor, is the reason of growth of postmodernism in Persian literature.
