Abstract One of the trends in contemporary novelistic streams which emerged as a result of the imitation of western novel in Iran is postmodernist novel. Although, due to the lack of the same context and background which was present in the west, it did not thrive and was not very successful, there were some novelists and practitioners that intended to encapsulate their critical views of the society and the modern man via this postmodernist approach. Abootorab Khosravi is one of those writers. His artistic use of western novelistic potentialities provided his novels with polyphonic qualities and also a medium with which he could dialogue and encapsulate different and opposing views. The present article utilizing descriptive-analytical method and focusing on different postmodern novelistic elements strove to highlight such postmodernist elements as polyphony in the novel of Malekan-e-Azab. The results of the present research study demonstrated that the principal qualities of the novel such as polyphony were put into effect through narrative techniques, intertextuality, meta-fiction, ….
